About

By 2014 it had became clear that the government’s figures for future housing needs would impact on all local authorities – and that those like East Staffs Borough Council  without an up-to-date Local Plan and a 5-year land supply would find themselves wide open to development.

This web site has been put together as a response to the increasing pressure from developers to gain planning permission to build on agricultural land around the perimeter of Abbots Bromley.

The site tries to be realistic about the situation. Abbots Bromley must accept its fair share of new development (a figure set by ESBC at 40 units on two identified sites) , but its two authors are unashamedly upset about the seeming opportunistic land-grab by developers which, if permitted, will result in the ambience of village life being changed for ever.
